In Memoriam

In Loving Memory Of our Mother and Nanny,

Dot Fries,

On Mother's Day

You were Our Mother, Nanny and Our Friend

You were our Mother, Nanny and our Friend,

Which was unusual.

Somehow our characters still blend.

Your wisdom and our will.

We turned, and you were there for us;

We spoke, you understood.

We felt cared for, but also free;

You loved and we were good.

We were fortunate that we were born

To someone just like you; We love you still. Though you are gone,

You live in what we do.

Happy Mother's Day, Mama.

We love you and miss you.

Love, Wendy, Ronald, Candice,

Christian and Talmadge IN LOVING MEMORY OF MY TWO SONS

Anthony N. Sherrod

March 1, 1967 - April 13, 1990

Richard D. Sherrod Jr. September 13, 1968 - May 3, 2006

God gave me you, my two sons,

I clothed you and fed you, I rocked you to sleep and sang you a lullaby. It was wonderful; I wanted it to last forever.

But quickly you grew older, Young men over six feet tall, with whiskers.

It feels like you don't need me very much,

And I have to let you go,

And trust God to care for you.

So now, all I can do is watch and pray, That you will let God clothe you and feed you,

Rock you and sing you a lullaby.

And it will be wonderful.

My two sons, I've always wanted you.

And I've always known, There's a time to be born and a time to die.

I read that verse and still I cry.

In my heart I know it's true, But it doesn't stop the pain of missing you two.

You lived your lives with love and honor

The way the Creator said it should be,

And like the Creator's son,

You even set an example for me. So each day as I look toward the heavens,

What do I see? My two sons smiling back at me.

Sadly missed by,

Mother
