Head Start

CSRA EOA, Inc. Head Start will be accepting applications for children who will be 3 years old by Sept. 1, and 4 years old by Dec. 31.

Head Start is a comprehensive child development program that provides quality services for the whole family. The program offers medical and dental examinations, mental health services, transportation, transition practices, nutrition experiences, social services and opportunities for parental involvement.

All services are provided in an educational environment that assures that the child will meet the challenges of the 21st century.

All services are free to qualified applicants. Applications can be obtained at Jenkins County Head Start, 432 Cleveland Ave., 9 a.m. until 3 p.m., Monday through Friday. The telephone number is (478) 982-4485 and the fax number is (478) 982-3473.

The following information is requested to process applications: certified birth certificate; verification of income for the last 12 months (W-2 form, copy of last income tax return, TANF/food stamp letter or social security benefit letter;) and child immunization certificate shot record (Georgia form 3231.)

Legal Help for Seniors

Georgia Legal Services Program (GLSP) staff will be at the Jenkins County Senior Center, 998 College Ave., from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m., Monday, June 4.

Staff will meet with senior citizens, 60 years of age or older, who have a civil (non-criminal) legal issue and want free legal help, on a first-come, first-serve basis.

'39ers

The '39ers will meet Monday, May 21, at the Millen Community House. A covered dish luncheon will be served. New members are welcome.
