Fitness center holds grand opening
The Jenkins County Chamber of Commerce sponsored a ribbon-cutting ceremony during the grand opening of One Body Fitness Center Friday, May 11. The building, formerly occupied by Wilson Furniture Company, is the first building purchased by the Millen Downtown Development Authority (DDA). The focus of the DDA is improvement of the downtown area through purchasing and renovating buildings to bring new businesses and vitality to Cotton Avenue. In the near future, the DDA plans to enhance the exterior of the building so that it has the historic appearance of neighboring buildings. Johnson, Bragg, Reeves, Dwight, Wade, Newman and Herrington are members of the DDA. (Photo contributed)
