Community baccalaureate to be held at Zion Baptist

A community baccalaureate service sponsored by the Jenkins County Baccalaureate Committee will be held 6 pm. Sunday, May 20, at Zion Baptist Church.

The Rev. Monica Cofer will be the guest speaker. She is the wife of Maurice Cofer. They have two daughters, Keidrian and Kauren.

A native of Richmond County, she attended Richmond County public schools and is a graduate of Augusta State University.

She is a retired teacher of the Richmond County School System where she taught for 23 years.

Rev. Cofer has served in the capacity of church musician for many choirs and has also accompanied numerous soloists, singing groups and renowned gospel recording artists.

She is an ordained minister and presently serves on staff as associate pastor of Carpentersville Baptist Church, where she ministers in the areas of spiritual counseling, youth ministries, mentoring, women's Bible study, outreach ministries, music ministry and assists her pastor with other pastoral duties and responsibilities.

All board members and educational staff members are invited to participate in the academic processional.

Rehearsal for the service is scheduled for 5 p.m. Friday, May 18, at the church.

All participating seniors should attend.
