JCMS to hold 2007 Olympics

Jenkins County Middle School will celebrate its 2007 Olympics May 14-18.

Students participated in a Tshirt design contest for the event and have been busy creating projects reflecting their country, preparing dramatic and musical selections representing their countries, and earning points for their country by reading and testing through the Accelerated Reader program.

A parade will be held 9 a.m. Wednesday, May 16. The parade route will follow Gray Street to College Avenue, turning left on College Avenue, and proceeding to Millen City Hall where opening ceremonies will begin at 10 a.m.

The following events will take place at the middle school:

+ Thursday, May 17 - 1 p.m, Quiz Bowl in JCMS gym;

+ Friday, May 18, Field events beginning at 8:30 a.m., and the closing ceremonies will begin at 2 p.m.
