The South Jenkins Volunteer Fire Department #6 will sponsor a fishing tournament Saturday, May 26, at Fairfield Landing on the Ogeechee River. The event will be held from 6:30 a.m. until 2 p.m.

Friends movie night

at the library Friends of the Jenkins County Memorial Library will host a special showing of the Oscarwinning film "An Inconvenient Truth."

The film offers a look at one man's fervent crusade to halt global warming's deadly progress in its tracks by exposing the myths and misconceptions that surround it.

The movie will begin at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 29. Popcorn and refreshments will be served.

The public is invited and the "friends" hope you will join them to learn more about what's happening to our world.
