JCHS graduation is Friday

Jenkins County High School (JCHS) will hold commencement exercises for the Class of 2007 at 7 p.m. Friday, May 25, on the football field. In the event of rain, the ceremony will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, May 26, on the football field. Should it rain Saturday, the ceremony will be held in the school gymnasium.

Valedictorian of the Class of 2007 is Megan Nicole Lane. Megan is the daughter of Richard and Tina Lane. She plans to attend Georgia Southern University as a pre-pharmacy major. She is also the 2007 STAR student for JCHS and a Washington Youth tour finalist. She is a 6-year Rotary Scholastic award recipient, Georgia Certificate of Merit recipient and is listed in Who's Who Among American High School Students.

Salutatorian is Jessica Lauren Herrington, daughter of Tim and Debbie Frawley and Dwayne and Tracey Herrington. She plans to attend East Georgia College and then transfer to Georgia Southern University as a pre-nursing major. She is a 6- year Rotary Scholastic award recipient, a Georgia Certificate of Merit recipient and an Augusta State Merit recipient.

Williams, son of Edwin and Angel Williams; and Megan Olivia Wilson, daughter of Jet Wilson and Sandra Oglesby.

National Technical Honor Society graduates are: Amy Chick, daughter of Forrest and Mary Boyer; Santria Clarke, daughter of Kasandra Coleman; Coley Daniel Clifton, son of Darrel and Margaret Clifton; Victoria Daughtry, daughter of Frank and Hattie Daughtry; Teah Lane, daughter of Perry Lane and Sonya Lane; Jerry Lockhart, son of Lena Young; Miranda Nicole Purvis, daughter of Larry and Betty Jo Purvis; Timothy Reed, son of Timmie Lee Reed and Sherian Jones; Raphael Sims, son of Avon and Robin Sims; Yadira Venegas, daughter of Cupertino Venegas and Leticia Rodriguez; Marquita Wadley, daughter of Wallace Wadley and Shirley Wadley; Rebecca Walker, wife of Brian Walker and daughter of Rebecca Walker; Adrian Nicole Waters, daughter of Ray and Kim Waters; and Tramaine Wilson, daughter of Frank and Zadell Wilson. These students maintained an 85 average throughout their high school education.
