Perryman receives promotion, awards from SEHS

K. Alexi (Alex) Perryman, 16, was recently promoted to cadet ensign at the annual South Effingham High School (SEHS) NJROTC Awards Banquet.

She was also promoted to color guard and commander and received several NJROTC awards and unit ribbons.

Earlier this year, at the unit's annual military inspection, she was one of 10 of 150 cadets to receive the coveted "Bravo Zulu" award. This award is given by the Area Naval Commander to the top 10 students in the unit for excellent military bearing, appearance and knowledge.

Alex has been a cadet with the SEHS NJROTC since 2005. She competes state-wide in drill and academic competitions, and now as commander, looks forward to bringing the NJROTC Color Guard Team to victory again next year.

She is granddaughter of Helen Boone of Millen.
