Datebook CPR training The Center for New Beginnings will host CPR training Wednesday, June 27, at First Baptist Church in Waynesboro. The halfday training will begin at 9 a.m. The cost is free unless you need a Red Cross CPR card, in which case there is a $5 processing fee. Vacation Reading Program kicks off The Jenkins County Memorial Library's annual Vacation Reading Program will kick off 11:30 a.m. Saturday, June 2, with games for all participants who are signed up for summer reading and have a library card. Festivities end with the Cowboy Cookout at 1 p.m. For more information about other activities scheduled, call the library at 478-982-4244. Cheerleader Kiddie Camp Early registration for Cheerleader Kiddie Camp will be held 10 a.m.-noon Thursday, May 31, at Jenkins County High School. Kiddie Camp will be held 9 a.m.-noon, Monday-Friday, June 11-15, at the high school. The cost of camp is $30. A DVD can be purchased for $10. Benefit to be held for Christine Bragg June 9 A benefit shoot for Christine Bragg will be held Saturday, June 9, at Hanging Rocks Plantation. All profits from the sporting clay tournament will be donated to Mrs. Bragg to help defer expenses of her treatment and fight against cancer. Registration will begin at 9 a.m. The entry fee is a donation of at least $35. Five stand and wobble trap are $8 each. Options will be available at registration. Lunch will be donated by Perry Suggs Construction. All food proceeds will also be donated to Mrs. Bragg.
