Letters to the Editor Dear Editor: To all the school bus drivers of Jenkins County: we have reached the end of another school term. Being a bus driver for 16 years, I would like to commend you on your willingness to assist your fellow driver in distress. You came to Coach Ford's aid when he so desperately needed help. May we continue to be there for each other, and may God bless all of you during the summer and bring us back together in the fall with the same caring spirit. God bless all of you. Driver of bus 96-31, Nelrose Reese Dear Editor: I would like to compliment the Jenkins County Industrial Development Authority and the City of Millen for the installation of The Lourie Garden on Cotton Avenue. Because of the efforts of these two groups, this once vacant, unattractive lot is now a spot of beauty. The property was donated to the development authority by the Lourie family. The city made a significant contribution by providing much of the labor for preparing the property for planting and for concrete work and the rock creek bed. The development authority provided the funds for the plants. The garden is located in one of the highest traffic areas on Cotton Avenue and therefore is highly visible to the public. On behalf of Millen Better Hometown and the citizens of Millen and Jenkins County, I want to express appreciation for this very pleasant addition to the appearance of the community.
