Teachers of Year speak at Post Planning Breakfast

As school drew to a close for the 2006-2007 school term, educators enjoyed a Post-Planning Breakfast Tuesday, May 29, in the cafeteria of the Jenkins County High School (JCHS).
A highlight of the activity was the recognition of the 2007-2008 Teachers of the Year. They are: Eleanor Jackson, Jenkins County Elementary School (JCES); Lyn Rhodes, Jenkins County Middle School (JCMS); and Marsha Madray, JCHS. Following an application and interview process, the system-wide Teacher of the Year will be selected and announced at the Pre-Planning meeting for the 2007-2008 school year.
Retiring school system employees were also recognized. They are: Annette Gay and Sherri Smith, JCES; Judith S. Taylor, JCMS; and Raymond Miller, Central Office.
Perfect attendance awards were presented to: Connie Cooper, JCES; Lyn Rhodes and Pam Luke, JCMS; Annette Cobb, Avis DeLoach, Ruth Hearn, Joyce Lanier, Dr. Alfred Schneider, Teresa Wommack and Jeffrey Silky, JCHS; Shirley Johnson, Alternative School; Larry Adams, Maintenance and Operations; Janice Morris, Patricia Sapp and Denise Carter, Transportation; Letha Clark and Janice Morris, Jenkins County School Food Service; and Melissa Williams, Central Office.
Dr. Judy Holton, JCES principal, was commended for her selection as a "High Performance Principal" by the Governor.
