Local roads to get striping
      The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) announced last week that two Jenkins County roads are included in a 327-mile striping contract awarded May 18 to Peek Pavement Markings of Columbus for $1,361,225. The contract will improve road markings on 46 roads in 18 counties.

2007 Cheer Camp underway
      This week the Jenkins County High School (JCHS) Varsity and Competition Cheerleading Squads are holding "Cheer Camp 2007." Those attending have learned cheers, chants and dances. The girls will hold a community pep rally for everyone to come and enjoy 11 a.m.
