Flag retirement ceremony held
Members of the VFW Post #2776 gathered on the lawn of the Jenkins County Courthouse Saturday, June 16, to perform their third annual Flag Day retirement ceremony. Over 30 unserviceable U.S. flags were consigned to flame. The invocation was brought by Randy Brown with the address given by Darryl Drake. Taking part were Ed Arita, Elbert Burke, Jesse Guthrie and Don Leonard. The ceremony ended with the singing of "The Star Spangled Banner." From left, are Guthrie, Leonard and Drake.
