JCHS will offer remedial instruction for state graduation review test

This summer, Jenkins County High School (JCHS) will offer remedial instruction in science, social studies, language arts and math on the high school campus.

Instruction during the summer will include a one-week review course for each section of the test. The review will last for two hours each day and will be taught by a high school teacher.

The review is free to all students and former students who exited JCHS with a Certificate of Performance. The review dates are Monday, July 9, through Friday, July 13. Each review session is scheduled as follows: 8 a.m. - 10 a.m., science; 10 a.m. - noon, social studies; 1 p.m. - 3 p.m., math; and 3 p.m. - 5 p.m., English.

The re-test for each section will take place on the following dates at 8:30 a.m. each morning at JCHS: Wednesday, July 11, writing test; Monday, July 16, science test; Tuesday, July 17, social studies; Wednesday, July 18, language arts (English); Thursday, July 19, math; and Friday, July 20, make-up day.

Ruth Hearn, high school counselor, encourages all students to attend the review sessions each day. Statistics have proven that students who attend the review have a higher chance of passing the re-test.
