Patriotic Celebration set Saturday

The sixth annual "Patriotic Celebration", sponsored by Millen Better Hometown and the Millen/Jenkins County Chamber of Commerce will be held Saturday, July 7, at the Jenkins County Recreation Department complex.

Activities get underway at 7:30 p.m. with music and rides for children, followed by a Patriotic Kiddie Parade at 8 p.m. and a brief patriotic ceremony, music and fireworks at 8:15 p.m.

Children under the age of eight are encouraged to dress in their patriotic best, decorate their non-motorized vehicles and ride in the parade.

Prizes will be awarded for the most patriotic costume and vehicle. A prize will also be awarded for the most patriotic picnic area.
