Mrs. Mary McNatt Lanier Collins dies on July 5

Mrs. Mary McNatt Lanier Collins, 82, of Millen died Thursday, July 5, 2007 at her residence after a lengthy illness.

Her funeral was held 10 a. m. Saturday, July 7, at the Elam Baptist Church with the Revs. Bill Brown and Kevin Farmer officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.

She was born in Toombs County. She was a homemaker and a member of the Elam Baptist Church and the Edith Cavelle Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Sid Lanier, and her parents, Jim and Alma McNatt.

Susie Quarterman and Roxanne Williams served as her caregivers.

Survivors include her husband, Ralph F. Collins III of Millen; two daughters, Linda Lanier Olmstead of Millen and Sydney Lanier Mingledorff of Savannah; three grandchildren, Honia and Mark Stanfield, Jody and Michelle Johnston and Kelly and Chris Banks; great-grandchildren, Mallory French, Jacob and Jett Stanfield, Gabrielle and Kole Johnston and Morgan and Aslyn Banks; and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Teddy Brady, Fred Blitch, Billy Clifton, Jody Johnston, Mark Stanfield and Chris Banks.

Crowe-Fields Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
