Judson Shepherd Lake Sr. of Chattanooga dies June 23 Judson Shepherd Lake Sr., 86, of Chattanooga, Tenn. died Saturday, June 23, 2007 in a hospital. His funeral was held 1 p.m. Monday, June 25, in the Heritage Funeral Home chapel with Revs. Lawrence Clark and Mark Flynn officiating. Entombment was in Valhalla Memorial Gardens in Huntsville, Ala. at 2:30 p.m. CST. Mr. Lake was born in Millen, Ga. and was a graduate of Millen High School and Florida Tech Institute. He was a veteran of World War II and served in the Air Force. He received a Bronze Star and a Silver Star for active duty in Europe. Mr. Lake was retired from the Army Missile Command at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, Ala. He worked on the Nike Hercules Missile Project and at the Pershing Project Office on the Pershing Modification Program at Ft. Sill, Okla. for eight years. He was a member of Christ United Methodist Church and the Bykota Sunday School Class. He moved from Perkins, Ga. to Chattanooga in 1998 to be relocated with his family. He suffered from Alzheimer's disease for 10 years. Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Josephine Lake; two sons, Dr. Judson S. (Bonnie) Lake of Apison, Tenn. and Stephen T. Lake of Chattanooga; two grandchildren, Shelly Lake and Joshua Lake, both of Apison; and several nieces. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Southeast Tennessee Chapter, 735 Broad St., Suite 300, Chattanooga, TN 37402.
