Wadley wins medals in martial arts

Jenkins County native Thomas Wadley captured the silver medal in sparring and the bronze medal in forms at the Songahm Taekwondo World Championships held recently in Little Rock, Ark.
The event included a Top Ten Invitational Tournament where martial artists from around the world, of all Black Belt ranks and ages, competed to determine world champions in their respective divisions. These competitors showcased their skills in sparring, forms, weapons and extreme martial arts.
During the year, Wadley won several major tournaments to qualify for the World Championship Tournament. He spent six months ranked number one in the First Degree Black Belt 30- 39 Division, and he entered the tournament ranked number two in sparring and number four in forms.
Other titles to his credit include winning a national championship in sparring, several Southeast Regional championships in sparring and forms, and the Georgia State Championship in both activities.
Wadley, the son of the late Pauline Wadley, resides in Suwanee.
He has a family of martial artists. His wife, Romel, and children, Rachael and Christian, are also black belts and actively compete.
