BA offers college math classes Bulloch Academy (BA) will offer college-level pre-calculus and calculus classes during the 2007-08 school year through the Senior to Sophomore Program with Georgia Southern University (GSU) Continuing Education Center. BA mathematics teacher Beth Burke, who is an adjunct professor of the university, will teach both semester-long courses in the first-year program. Both college pre-calculus and calculus classes are targeted to high school juniors and seniors. The pre-calculus course will be taught during the first semester of the school year and calculus will be taught the second semester. "It's just like a class at Georgia Southern," said Burke. "The students have to go to the college bookstores to purchase their textbooks. The course counts as credit hours toward graduation at both Bulloch Academy and GSU." Bulloch Academy will be the first high school in Bulloch County to participate in the Senior to Sophomore Program. | |||||
