WELCOME BACK!!! I know for a fact many of you had an awesome summer and are so sad it's over but we have TONS of things in store for 4-H the upcoming year to help continue your excitement.

As a quick recap of this summer, we sent over 35 students to summer camp at various places ranging from the beach to the mountains.

We had 4 people qualify for State Congress, one of the highest honors you can receive. And of those four, one is now a Master 4-H'er. Students were in and out of the office doing everything from fishing rodeos to going to the zoo to cooking some crazy cuisine!!

Needless to say, as many of you know, we had a blast here too! If you happened to lose anything over the summer, it's probably here in my office. Please come and get it. I have pocket books, sweaters, sleeping bags, a pillow and even some rope!?

This was my first summer having the privilege to work with the young people in this community and get to know them outside the 4-H Office.

To the parents - you should be proud. They are a fine group of people whom I am very proud to call mine when we go off. I didn't have anything but magnificent times with each of them. To the 4-H'ers - you guys rock. I hope this school year is incredible for you. I can't wait to see you all in the office again soon.

Last year at the Kiwanis Ogeechee Fair in Statesboro, Jenkins County had more educational exhibits (mini-booths) than any other county!! We set up 80 booths last year! If you don't know anything about the fair and mini-booths just trust me when I tell you that's a HUGE number! That means we had over 80 kids in and out of our office learning about all sorts of crazy topics while working together to get their projects done.

I'm saying all of this because the fair is once again right around the corner.

In order for us to keep those record numbers, we need you to start working on your booths NOW!! As in tomorrow. There's no way we could possibly get them all done at the last minute. So please plan on coming by the office any day after school and getting started. We'll see you then!!
