The Jenkins County High School varsity Lady Eagles' season has begun and already the team is doing great things on the diamond. With wins over Bryan County, 4-3, and Emanuel County Institute, 13-2, the Lady Eagles are establishing themselves as a force to be reckoned with in their region.
The Lady Eagles posted one loss to Portal in a close 5-4 battle. Leading hitters were Whitley Clark, Ayana Walker, Lindsay Purvis and Brookes Brinson.
Dee Dee Davis and Lindsay Purvis are leading the team in runs batted in. Crisalyn Walker had two wins last week in pitching with an earned run average of 1.4
Coach Linda Sanders said the team is off to a great start and playing very well this early in the season.
This week the Lady Eagles will play Savannah Country Day.
