Commissioners seek volunteer for Airport Advisory Committee
By Deborah Bennett Millen News Editor

The Jenkins County Commissioners are seeking a volunteer to serve on the county's Airport Advisory Committee. The decision to ask for a volunteer to fill the position was made during the group's Tuesday, Sept. 4, meet- ing.

It was noted that the individual selected should have an interest in economic development and airport facilities. Grant-writing and computer experience would also be beneficial. Anyone interested in serving on the committee should contact the commissioners' office at 982-2563.

In other business, the commissioners received bids for health insurance from several providers. After listening to the proposals, the matter was tabled until the bids could be compared and reviewed.

A bid for audit services was approved from Jones, Jones, Davis and Associates in the amount of $24,500.

An adjusted bid from Lowe's to provide paint for two county projects was accepted in the amount of $1,369.32. The adjustment was allowed due to the bidder's mathematical error. Lowe's was the low bidder.
