Fair-on-the-Square to be held Oct. 6

Fall may not be in the air yet, but plans are proceeding for the annual Fair-on-the-Square arts and crafts festival to be held Saturday, Oct. 6, on the lawn of the Jenkins County Courthouse. The event is sponsored by Millen Better Hometown.

Entry fees are $35 for each 14x14 space and $60 for nonprofit groups requiring two spaces. A $5 charge, in addition to the entry fee, must be paid by those requiring electricity. Spaces are reserved on a first come basis. An application for booth space appears elsewhere in this issue of The Millen News. The deadline for entries is Sept. 26.

Sponsors note that there will be a wide variety of arts, crafts and food booths for the enjoyment of those attending. Entertainment is planned throughout the day as well, and a highlight event will be a parade through the downtown business district.
