Lewis V. Johnson Jr., 63, of Twin City died Sept. 6
Lewis Veazy Johnson Jr., 63, of Twin City died Thursday, Sept. 6, 2007 at Emanuel Medical Center after a brief illness.

His funeral was 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 8, at Twin City United Methodist Church with the Revs. Randall Smith and Richard Turner officiating.

Burial was in the Fairhaven United Methodist Church Cemetery in Jenkins County.

Mr. Johnson was born in Creedmore, N.C. He retired with the Emanuel County school system. He was a former employee of the Jenkins County school system. He was a former employee of the Sylvania and Vidalia recreation departments. He was a member of the Twin City United Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Clava Odom Johnson.

Survivors include his wife, Sybil W. Johnson; his father and stepmother, Lewis V. Johnson Sr. and Dot Johnson; a daughter and son-inlaw. Kelly and Darrel Sherrod; two sons and daughters-in-law, Trai and Pam Johnson and Troy Johnson and Glenna Henry, all of Twin City; a sister and brother-in-law, Alice Lee Remler and Albert Remler III of Carrollton; three grandsons, Evan Johnson, Austin Sherrod and Bray Sherrod, all of Twin City; and a niece and nephew, Allison Lambert of Waco, Texas and Ben Lambert of Carrollton.

Pallbearers were John Allen Bailey, David Meade, David Price, Mike Head, Arthur Hudson and Ivey McMillan.

Honorary Pallbearers were Twin City United Methodist Men.

Memoriams may be made to the Twin City Methodist Church Roofing Fund.
