Millen Woman's Club and Millen Better Hometown have applied for a grant of $5,000 from Hamburger Helper Corp. to help fund improvements to the park behind the Millen Community House. A major factor in getting the grant is evidence of community support. You can show that support by going to the website http://www.myhometownhelper.com.Click on "Find a Project," select "Georgia" and type in "Millen." Click on "Millen Community House Park." There is a place to make a comment in support of the project. Please help by taking a few minutes to do this. The deadline for making comments is Sunday, Sept. 30.

Miss Fair-on-the- Square Beauty Pageant

Buckhead-Fort Lawton Camp 2012 to meet Sept. 21

The Buckhead-Fort Lawton Camp 2102, Sons of Confederate Veterans, will hold its regular monthly meeting 7:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 21, at Cindy's Café on Cotton. The featured speaker will be Compatriot Al Perry. All camp members are encouraged to attend. The meeting is open to the public.
