Local man dies in farm accident Kasey Arnold Lane, 44, of Millen died Monday, Sept. 10, from injuries received in a farm accident. A Georgia State Patrol accident report indicates that Lane was traveling north on a private farm road in western Jenkins County in a 1980 GMC Road Boss with a trailer in tow. He stopped and exited his vehicle, walking to the rear of the trailer. A vehicle driven by Edsel Ricky McLeod Jr., 23, which was also traveling north on the road, struck Lane. McLeod said that a cloud of dust obstructed his view of Lane's stopped vehicle. Jenkins County Emergency Medical Services personnel responded to the call for assistance and transported Lane to the Jenkins County Hospital where he died. The accident remains under investigation by the Georgia State Patrol. |
