Marjorie May Rapp Fluck, 91, died Sept. 11

Marjorie May Rapp Fluck, 91, of Easton, Northampton County, Pa. and North Charleston, S.C. died Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2007 of Alzheimer's Disease in the Jenkins County Hospital.

Graveside services were held 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 14, at Carolina Memorial Park in North Charleston.

Mrs. Fluck was born July 6, 1915 in Easton, Pa. She was the daughter of the late Melvin Beta and Elsie Ida Marie (Horn) Rapp of Easton. She was a direct descendent of one of the first Lutheran pastors in Bucks County, Pa., an immigrant from Alsace-Lorraine, France in 1750.

Marjorie worked as an income tax consultant for many years in North Charleston.

She was the widow of Abner Fredrick Fluck of Bucks County and North Charleston, who predeceased her on May 19, 1988.

She was a member of Advent Lutheran Church in North Charleston and Circle Two since 1948.

A sister, Virginia Rapp Benn of Portland, Pa. and three brothers, Roger William Rapp, Thomas Edward Rapp and Alfred Arthur Rapp, all predeceased her, as well as two infant siblings, (Irene and Melvin Beta Rapp Jr.,) and her youngest nephew, Thomas Benn, in August, 2007 in Las Vega, Nev.

Survivors include two daughters, Judith Ann Fluck of North Charleston and Audrey May Fluck Carswell and son-in-law, Charles Alton Carswell of Millen, with whom she had lived since 1996; a grandson, Charlton A.A. Carswell and Donna Kirkland Carswell of Augusta; two great-grandchildren, Caroline Elizabeth Carswell and Charlton A.A. Carswell II; a stepgreat-granddaughter, Jessika Ann Kirkland, all of Augusta; and 11 nieces and nephews, all of Pennsylvania and Ohio.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate any donations made in Marjorie's name be given to Advent Lutheran Church, to their new roof fund, at 3347 Rivers Ave., North Charleston, SC.
