Eagles suffer Homecoming heartbreak

      Schley County handed the Jenkins County High School Eagles a Homecoming loss this past Friday night in front of a packed crowd. With just under five minutes to go in the game, the visiting Wildcats intercepted a tipped pass from Houston Bowers and ran it back for a touchdown.

JUNIOR VARSITY
      The JV Eagles are 3-0. The Eagle JV team knocked off Claxton on the road this past week with a 30-20 win. This win brought the young Eagle team to a 3-0 record. The Eagles will meet Portal this Thursday at home.

C-TEAM
      The Eagle middle school team beat Claxton 14-12 at home this past week to bring their record to 1-2. This young team is led by a strong defense that has been stingy in points given up all year. This week the middle school eagles will face Portal on the road.

Lady Eagles win 2 out of 3

      The Jenkins County High School Lady Eagles played three tough games this past week beating E.C.I. and Hephzibah then losing to Calvary. The team has a record now of 6 wins and 8 losses. The team is locked in a battle with Portal and Bryan Co. for third place in the Region.

      The young Lady Eagles started the playoffs Tuesday at home after finishing the regular season in second place behind Metter. Their 6-2 record has put them in the postseason hunt.       Friday, Aug. 31, the Jenkins County Middle School GTO and Eagle Academy went to Augusta to Fort Discovery to experience "hands-on" learning in their Discovery Lab.
