Schley County handed the Jenkins County High School Eagles a Homecoming loss this past Friday night in front of a packed crowd. With just under five minutes to go in the game, the visiting Wildcats intercepted a tipped pass from Houston Bowers and ran it back for a touchdown. This defensive stand gave Schley the lead for the first time in the second half and the game would soon end with the scoreboard posting Schley County 14 and Jenkins County 7.

The Eagles fought a tough battle in front of a full house. The offense was led by Quentin Jenkins who rushed for 66 yards and Patrick Moody who added 58 yards. Trevor Weathersby had 40 yards receiving. Houston Bowers passed for 83 yards and scored the only Eagle touchdown on the ground.

The Eagle defense was the story of the night, holding the Schley Wildcats to only 156 yards of total offense. Dontavious Young led the team with 12 tackles and one sack of the quarterback. Justin Lanier had eight tackles; Spencer Clark had nine tackles with a fumble recovery; and Boyd Sasser had seven tackles.

The Eagles with a 2-2 record begin their Region play matchups this weekend going on the road to play E.C.I. Friday night. The following week the Eagles with travel to play Claxton.
