Morrison Grove Baptist Church
A native of Jacksonville, Fla., he is the fourth of five sons born to the late Isaac and Essie Mae Holland. He is a 1959 graduate of Douglas Anderson High School. He received a bachelor of science from Allen University in Columbia, S.C., and afterward he was drafted by the Dallas Cowboys. Holland was in the education field 38 years. He was also with the Georgia Department of Human Resources 11 years, working with serious offenders and students at risk. He was elected District #5 county commissioner of Richmond County, and he is a retired principal of Glenn Hills High School. He spent several years as coach of the Burgess Landrum Bombers in Millen. He and his wife, Barbara, are the parents of Calvin Holland Jr. and Kellie Holland. |
