Willene Williams Holton, 73, of Millen died Oct. 1

Willene Williams Holton, age 73 of Millen, GA passed away Oct. 1, 2007 at her home surrounded by family and friends after a brief illness.

She was a native of Coffee County, GA but lived in Alma, GA prior to relocating to Millen, GA in 2005. She was the daughter of the late Ira B. Williams and Willie Maude Williams. She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years Robert LaDon Holton, and a brother Ira Williams, Jr. Willene retired from Satilla Electric Membership Corporation after 44 years of service in the rural electric industry. She was a member of First Baptist Church where she was very active during her time in Alma.

Survivors include her son, Chad Holton and daughter by marriage Judy K. Holton of Millen, GA; her granddaughter Kellie H. Johnson and grandson by marriage David R. Johnson of Grovetown, GA; and her grandson Lawson C. Holton of Millen, GA.; a sister Darlene W. Beavers of Palm Coast, FL, her brother and sister-in-law James F. and Chris L. Williams of Alma, GA; three sisters-in-law Nina L. Holton, Ruby Jean Strickland, and Annie Ruth Taylor; and brother-in-law J. Roger Taylor all of Alma, GA and several

nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 3, 2007 (today) at 3 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Alma with Reverend J. Roger Taylor and Reverend Richard Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. Donations can be made to the American Cancer Society in her memory in lieu of flowers.

Active pallbearers include: William P. Bragg, Jeff H. Joyner, Taylor Power, Victor Power, Robert Rentfrow, Randy Waters, Dean Strickland and Adam Williams.

Honorary pallbearers will be employees and retired employees of Satilla Electric Membership Corporation and members of the Lydia Sunday School Class at First Baptist Church in Alma.

Crosby Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
