Local students honored by scholarship program

Jenkins County High School was recently notified that the National Achievement Scholarship Program recognized two seniors nationally. Dee Dee Davis and Keeley Sapp participated in the PSAT last year and scored in the top 5 percent of more than 140,000 black Americans who tested nationwide. These students will be referred to higher education institutions where they could be eligible for other honors or awards.
Dee Dee is the daughter of Regina Davis and Jimmy Davis; she will attend Savannah State University upon graduation and major in accounting and minor in business marketing.
Keeley is the daughter of Elizabeth Roundtree and Charlie Sapp; she will attend Georgia Southern University to major in a pre-veterinarian program.
