Several weeks ago I contacted Tammy Brannen about doing an article on the local Angel Food Ministries. I had no idea it would involve meeting the group at 5 a.m. on a Saturday morning when the food truck arrived at West Millen Baptist Church. I must confess I would not have done it for anyone but the Lord!

It was an eye-opening experience. The volunteers are few, and the task enormous. The groceries arrive in bulk, must be unloaded, counted and then boxed individually for distribution. Some folks pick their orders up, but others must be delivered.

It is truly a ministry! If you are looking for a way to serve the Lord or if your church would like to start a food ministry of its own, contact Tammy Brannen at 478- 982-5146, and she can put you to work.

Assisting with this program would also make a good "community service project" for some of our civic and school organizations. Please give it some consideration.
