MPD arrests 2 in drug bust

Two local residents face charges related to an early morning Friday, Oct. 12, drug bust by officers of the Millen Police Department, in conjunction with the Richmond County Sheriff's Office SWAT team.

Acting upon a search warrant, officers discovered multiple bags of cocaine and a large quantity of cash at the 520 Buckhead Road residence of John Sanders Jr., 35.

Sanders is charged with possession of cocaine with intent to distribute and a parole violation.

Also charged in the incident was Soyna Marie Clark, 24. Clark is charged with possession of cocaine with intent to distribute.

Other charges may be pending as the investigation progresses.
