Mr. Clifford Richardson, 42, of Millen died Oct. 18

Mr. Clifford Lenard Richardson, 42, died suddenly at his residence Thursday, Oct. 18, 2007.

Funeral services were held 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 22, at Joiner- Anderson Funeral Home, Statesboro. Visitation was 5-8 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 21, at the funeral home.

Interment was in the Eastside Cemetery, Statesboro.

The Sarasota, Fla. native was a 1983 graduate of Statesboro High School and a 1993 graduate of Ogeechee Technical College being certified as an EMT and Paramedic. He was employed with the Jenkins County Emergency Medical Services (EMS) since 1993 and had served as a CPR instructor in many locations. Mr. Richardson served as fire chief for the Clito Volunteer Fire Department for several years.

Survivors include two sons, Daniel Ignatius Richardson and Phillip Calloway Richardson, both of Statesboro; mother and stepfather, Bucky and Barbara Crockett, Statesboro; a sister and brother-in-law, Tim and Ann Pye, Statesboro; step-brother and wife, Jamey and Gina Crockett, Statesboro; a step-sister and husband, Mackey and Melanie Jones, Leefield; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Pallbearers were Matthew Davis, Todd Van Wallen, Henry Young, Lloyd Shurling, Bassum Demetre and Michael Doughman.

Honorary pallbearers were members of the Jenkins County EMS and all Bulloch County Volunteer Fire Department personnel.

The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Clifford Richardson Children's Educational Fund, c/o Park Avenue Bank, 335 South Main St., Statesboro, GA 30458.
