BOE adopts cash flow resolution
By Deborah Bennett Millen News Editor

During a called meeting held Wednesday, Nov. 7, the Jenkins County Board of Education approved a cash flow resolution, noting that it was necessary on Oct. 24 to establish a $475,000 line of credit at Regions Bank prior to the arrival of the monthly state funding check on Oct. 25.

When BOE member Roderick Campbell complained that board members should have been notified of the matter at the time of its occurrence, BOE Chairman Carroll Gay responded, "It was something that had to be handled immediately."

Other action taken by the BOE included the following:

• Accepted recommendations of the architect concerning handicap parking at the Jenkins County High School gymnasium project;

• Approved the painting of graphics on new gymnasium floor, to be funded by the Athletic Department; and

• Approved construction of video platform in the new gymnasium.
