Community-wide prayer service

to be held Nov. 25

A community-wide prayer service for jobs will be held 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 25 at the Olde Pal Theater on Cotton Avenue. The Rev. Dan Zellner will coordinate the event.

Come and join together in prayer for those who have lost or are losing their jobs.

A special invitation to attend is extended to city, county and school officials, as well as the general public.

Christmas Decorations Contest

The Christmas Decorations Contest, sponsored by the Millen Garden Council, will be held the night of Monday, Dec. 10.

GED to be given at Swainsboro Tech

The GED examination will be given at Swainsboro Technical College (STC) Monday, Dec. 3, and Tuesday, Dec. 4. Registration is required prior to testing. GED registration is 9 a.m. Monday, Nov. 26 in Building #8 and 6 p.m. in Bldg. #1, Room 1109.

A picture ID and Social Security card must be presented. A $95 test fee is due at time of registration. Applicants must be 18 years or older. If applicants are 18 or 19 years old, an official withdrawal from the last school attended must also be presented at registration.

Basketball registration

Jenkins County Recreation Department (JCRD) is currently holding basketball registration through 4 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 29, for boys and girls ages 6 - 14. Coaches are needed; applications are available at JCRD. For more information, call 982- 2943.

JCRD Board meeting changed

Jenkins County Recreation Department's regular board meeting has been changed from Wednesday, Dec. 5, to 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 6.
