Miss Burke to marry Mr. Miller May 31

Mr. and Mrs. James Alvin Burke of Millen announce the engagement of their daughter, Valen Alane Burke, to Tracy Byron Miller, son of Mr. And Mrs. Frank Miller Jr., also of Millen.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Ms. Mary Odom Burke and the late Ben Albert Burke of Millen, and the late Huldra Dewald Daughtry and Dorothy Daughtry of Millen, and Betty Samples of Wadley.

She is a 2002 valedictorian graduate of Jenkins County High School. She is a 2006 graduate of Georgia Southern University with a bachelor of science degree in secondary English education. She employed by Jenkins County Board of Education as a ninth grade English teacher.

The groom-elect is the grandson of the late Mr. John Frank Miller and Mrs. Agnes Miller of Millen, and Mrs. Annie Lou Perkins and the late Mr. John Perkins of Keysville.

He is a 1997 graduate of Jenkins County High School. He is a 2003 graduate of Ogeechee Technical College with an associate degree in Marketing. He is employed by South Georgia Insurance Group in Statesboro.

The wedding will be at 6:00 p.m. Saturday May 31, 2008 at West Millen Baptist Church. The reception will follow the ceremony at the Millen Community House. No local invitations will be sent. All family and friends are invited attend.
