Tuesday, Nov. 13, the Millen Fire Department made its inaugural "live fire" burn at the new training facility located at the Millen City Hall.
The training facility will allow Millen Fire Department members to obtain the "live fire" training required by the state without having to travel out-of-town. The facility will also allow the department to hone its techniques and funda- mentals for wild land, vehicle and structure fires and search and rescue operations.
Volunteer stations in the county will be asked to participate in future training exercises.
Clay Boulineau, City Public Works Department, and R.M. (Bubba) Small, City Utility Department, were instrumental in getting the facility up and running.
