Millen native travels to China More than 740 students participated this summer in a dynamic University of Northern Iowa (UNI) program that offers them an opportunity to travel around the world providing summer recreation programs for dependent youth at U.S. military installations, U.S. Embassies, corporate clubs, international schools and in special programs. Trudie Branch, a student from Millen who attends Albany State University, served in China as part of the innovative UNI Camp Adventure program. Students served four branches of the U.S. military this summer - Army, Navy, Air Force and Marines - at more that 118 program sites in the Netherlands, Belgium, United Kingdom, Germany, Italy, Spain, Russia, Japan, Korea, People's Republic of China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, the United States, Norway, Portugal, Guam and the Marshall Islands. Students were also placed in such states as Hawaii, Florida, Texas, Utah, Colorado, Pennsylvania, New Hampshire, Illinois, Tennessee and Massachusetts. |
