Thurmon Kent Sr., 81, of Millen died December 5

Thurmon Kent Sr., 81, of Millen died Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2007.

Graveside services were held 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 7, at the Millen Cemetery with the Rev. Maurice Crowder officiating.

Mr. Kent was born in Jenkins County. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a retired mail carrier and a retired farmer. He was a member of Millen Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Allmond Kent; a son, Thurmon (Sophia) Kent Jr.; a sister, Ruth K. Miller; a brother, Jack D. (Dreta) Kent Sr.; and two grandchildren, Wesley Kent and Austin Kent, all of Millen.
