Two sex offenders arrested for probation violations

Two convicted sex offenders are back behind bars for violating their probations.

Sunday, Dec. 16, deputies of the Jenkins County Sheriff's Department and specialized probation officers arrested Harrison T. Story Jr., 66, and his daughter, Jacqueline Stickle, 38, for "Violation of Intensive Probation" at the home of Story on Fairfield Loop in Jenkins County, according to Jenkins County Sheriff Tim Fields.

Both Story and Stickle were originally charged and convicted in Jefferson County with incest in 2006 and 2007. Both are registered sex offenders and listed on the Georgia Bureau of Investigation's (GBI) Sex Offender Registry. Under terms of their probation, they were not to have any contact with each other.

Story recently moved to Jenkins County and is listed on the Sex Offender Registry of Jenkins County Sheriff's Department. Stickle lists her address in Louisville, Jefferson County. Both were transported to the Jefferson County Jail where they will be held pending hearings on their cases.

Sheriff Fields commented, "The Jenkins County Sheriff's Office currently monitors 13 registered sex offenders. Sex offenders are required to register with the sheriff's office of the county in which they reside. We, along with the assigned probation officers, monitor their activity very closely. When they are in violation of the conditions of their court-imposed sentences, they are arrested and sent back to the county of their conviction to answer to the court that sentenced them. We look at them, their cases and the protection of our citizens very seriously."
