Virlyn Lindsey Doyle Hitchcock died Dec. 15
Mrs. Virlyn Lindsey Doyle Hitchcock, 82, of Millen died Saturday, Dec. 15, 2007 at her residence.
Her funeral was held 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 18, at Bay Branch Baptist Church with Dr. Maurice Crowder and the Rev. Jarrett Burch officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Hitchcock was born in Jenkins County. She was a homemaker and a retired dairyman. She was a member of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church of Tennille.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Bill Doyle, and a daughter, Wanda Doyle Brownlee.
Survivors include her husband, Ray Hitchcock of Tennille; five daughters, Dawn Doyle Norman of Roswell, D'Laine Doyle Evans of Hiawassee, Wendy Doyle Jenkins Of Lincolnton and Sharon Doyle Hilderbrandt and Marcia Doyle Godbee, both of Millen; three stepchildren, Kay Layton, Ben Hitchcock and Joy Connor, all of Tennille; a brother, Charles Lindsey of Sylvania; 18 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Heartland Hospice of Augusta or Mt. Moriah Baptist Church of Tennille.
Crowe-Fields Funeral Home of Millen was in charge of arrangements.
