Boyd Sasser named Georgia Scholar Athlete

Jenkins County High School student Boyd Sasser has been selected as a recipient of the 2007 Hall of Fame State of Georgia Scholar Athlete Award. As a recipient of the award, he will receive a $1,000 scholarship.

Boyd was selected as one of the top 40 scholar athletes for football in the state of Georgia for 2007. He will be honored for his accomplishment at the Texaco Havoline Scholarship Luncheon and "Chalk Talk", presented by The Atlanta Journal Constitution, on Dec. 29 in Atlanta.

The award was sponsored by Texaco Havoline, the Atlanta Falcons Youth Foundation, Gallagher Electric and Engineering Company, Georgia High School Association and the Greater Atlanta Chapter of the National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame.
