Smart, yes she is! Breonna Smart scored a perfect score on the new Georgia High School Writing Test (GHSWT). This is the first year that students have taken the new GHSWT. Students can no longer use "formula" writing and pass. Instead, students must show that they are able to develop good ideas and support them while at the same time organizing the ideas and support effectively, according to Lynn Scruggs, Breonna's English teacher. Students' must be able to demonstrate their own individual voice and style, which Breonna proved very effective in this.
She is active in Club HERO, which is a leadership club sponsored by the Jenkins County Family Enrichment Services and is the secretary for the Future Business Leaders of America Club. She has consistently been named as a Rotary Scholastic Recipient since seventh grade as well as maintained Honor Roll status. She is the daughter of Delores Smart.
"Jenkins County High School is very proud of Breonna," said counselor Ruth Hearn.
