The Jenkins County High School Eagles boys and girls cross country teams wrapped up their season in November. Coaches Bobby James, Ray Miller and Jimmy Brannen were pleased with the turn out.
Coach James said, " It was an exciting season, especially to be a rebuilding year".
The boys' team had two retuning letterman and the girls' team had four. Three of the boys had runs in the 18's this year and one young man did this twice.
Coach James went on to say that since the 1980's he had only seen one person post a run in the 18's at Jenkins County.
This year the boys will lose two seniors. James Bramblett and Brandon Wade have been pillars to the team for the past three years.
The girls will lose Shaniqua Carter and Julie Drake to graduation.
Coach Brannen said that the returning starters are sure to make a big impact in 2008.
The teams had great success this year posting second place finishes in Burke and Washington County and first place finishes at Jefferson County and at home against Swainsboro.
