High school holds career fair

The Jenkins County High School (JCHS) College/Career Fair held on Wednesday, Nov. 14, at the Jenkins County Agriculture Center was a huge success this year. Approximately 40 colleges, technical colleges and military branches were represented.
The CSA organization, advised by Annette Cobb, sponsored and organized the event. Summer Holloway, advisor of the FSCA Club, along with Donna Kennedy and Early Lloyd, advisors of the FBLA Club, provided refreshments for the college representatives and served the refreshments during the two-hour event. Seniors and juniors were able to visit with many different colleges and make plans for their future. Yahntaye Martin, the reigning Ms. Fort Valley State, and former Jenkins County High School graduate, was present represent Fort Valley and inspire and encourage students to set their goals high and strive reach them.
To date, this was the largest college fair held at JCHS, according to Ruth Hearn, Guidance Counselor.
