State troopers from the Sylvania Post of the Georgia State Patrol investigated six traffic crashes during the month of January in Jenkins County. Sgt. 1st Class Young said the traffic crashes resulted in eight injuries and no traffic deaths.

Sgt. 1st Class Young said troopers from Post 21 also issued 124 traffic citations in the county during the month. The total includes seven arrests for driving under the influence, 72 citations for speeding, seven seat belt violations and one child restraint violation. Troopers also issued 142 warnings.
