Jenkins County Hospital (JCH) Administrator Alvin Burke resigned his position Thursday, Oct. 2, as the result of an incident involving a fe- male employee.

He was charged with misdemeanor sexual battery Friday, Oct. 3, and released after posting a $1,000 property bond.

JCH Chief Executive Officer Pete Mills said that he could not comment on the matter other than to confirm Burke's resignation. He said that Burke had been employed by the facility for over 30 years.

City of Millen Public Safety Officer Dwayne Herrington said that the Millen Police Department's investigation had been completed, and the case had been turned over to the Jenkins County Solicitor's office.
