Dear Editor:
      On Thursday night, Oct. 30, Millen Better Hometown and Millen/Jenkins County Chamber of Commerce sponsored the seventh annual Harvest of Fun on Cotton Avenue. The attendance was great, as usual. It is gratifying to see the community come out in such numbers to enjoy family fun together. The response to our efforts certainly makes the hard work worthwhile.

Dear Editor,
      Mr. Hite's article struck a nerve in me. It was not the content of the article but the use of the word propaganda. His use of the word had a negative connotation, although in fact the word is not negative at all. Propaganda is merely promoting one's true beliefs or using facts to dispel false beliefs. Furthermore, advertising does not fall into the category of propaganda.

      I want to extend my congratulations to Roy Cook and Freddie Brinson. I include our elected officials, our community and our children in my prayers . My offer to help with grant searches for resource officers, alternative fleet fuels and methods of keeping our schools located within the City of Millen still stands.
